Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist #52963

I believe you are the expert on you, your life, and your experience. And I also believe there is value in understanding how we, as human beings, are all so similar to one another. It helps to know you're not alone, that your experience is not strange. It helps to know that you are simultaneously a completely unique individual, and also pretty "normal." Working on self-compassion can bring about tremendous change. I believe we are all doing the best we can with what we've got, AND we can always learn and strive to do better.

I have spoken with hundreds and hundreds of people over the two decades I've worked in mental health. I have experience working with depression, anxiety disorders, suicidal thinking, grief counseling, substance use issues, psychosis, and more. I use CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing and other various approaches with clients, depending on their needs.

I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and have experience with transgender mental health evaluations. I strive to keep my perspective intersectional and am always learning. I believe gender roles and the related societal expectations can play a major role in our mental health. I am body-positive and anti-racist. I am passionate about boundaries and communication. I believe small changes add up to big results over time.
