Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist #46813
I avoid taking an “expert” stance; flexibility is important and sometimes “one size does not fit all.” I orient toward making room for empathy and unconditional positive regard in the client/therapist relationship. I also believe in supportively challenging client “stuck points” that may be getting in the way of lasting change. I have eclectic training in couples communication, interventions with teens, suicide/safety assessment, EFT, DBT and CBT. My therapeutic style is collaborative. I believe that my role is to help clients develop increased wellness and change by offering my training and skills as a guide. I’m passionate about therapy and appreciate that the process toward change may be challenging and sometimes uncomfortable. This is why I believe strongly in creating safety and support through empathy, humor and genuineness.
