Licensed Clinical Social Worker #103823
I believe that there is no such thing as a "bad" feeling or a "bad" thought. These feelings and thoughts are trying to communicate our needs, but when they are all inside our heads, and we are constantly trying to make them stop, it becomes very confusing as to what they are actually trying to tell us. As your therapist, one of my main roles will be to guide you in reconnecting with your natural intuition that is trying to be seen and heard through these thoughts, feelings and related behavioral patterns. I understand that everyone has unique needs, so it is always my goal to learn from you and to have you guide your sessions. Of course, I am always here to help when you are feeling stuck. With each person, I use a unique and tailored approach, while also incorporating my knowledge of evidence based practices and theories. I often use a combination of CBT, TF-CBT, Prolonged Exposure, DBT, inner-child and parts work, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and psychodynamic, systemic, and attachment-based approaches. My specializations include, but are not limited to, eating disorders, trauma, identity confusion work, depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, self-esteem, relationship issues, peer issues, and family therapy. I want to help you develop the confidence to help yourself, and the self-compassion and self-forgiveness that will keep you moving forward. Connection and deeply understanding people, well beyond the surface, has always been my passion. As a therapist, it is my goal to help people deeply understand themselves and reconnect to the parts of them that may currently be lost.
